What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions enhance, lengthen and thicken your natural lashes. Individual Eyelash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that come in different lengths, thicknesses and curl, to suit your natural eye shape and give you the individual look you are after. Whether you are going for the subtle look, or something more dramatic... they are soft to touch and feel weightless on your lashes.

What can I expect?

If you are considering eyelash extensions for the first time, then please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss the options that I can provide. At your first appointment I will discuss with you the look that you are after, and then recommend which length and thickness would be best to achieve this. The process will then take 90 minutes (120-140 if you are having Russian Volume) where you will lay back and relax in the Lash Chic beauty room, as the eyelashes are individually applied one by one to your natural lashes.

How long will my lash extensions last?

Classic and Russian Volume lashes will last the lifetime of the natural lash they are adhered to, which is generally 4-6 weeks. After this time, most lashes will have fallen. To keep lashes looking their best it is recommended to have a regular 2-3 weekly top up treatment. 

Here are the following general loss patterns for you to expect:

After 7 days you will lose 21 extensions

After 14 days you will lose 42 extensions

After 21 days you will lose 63 extensions

(Your therapist will apply approximately 100 extensions to the suitable natural lashes of each eye)

Can I use my normal skincare products?

Yes, providing you avoid applying oil based products directly onto the lash extensions. Eye creams in particular must be used with care.

Can I have Lash extensions if I wear contact lenses?

Yes, although we recommend that you remove contact lenses for the duration of your treatment. Afterwards lenses can be worn as normal.

Do they damage your natural lashes?

Lash Perfect lash extensions do not damage the natural lashes. With correct aftercare, the natural lash should remain unaffected.

How does it feel to have lash extensions applied?

Application is gentle and totally comfortable. Your eyes will be protected. You will need to keep your eyes closed for the duration of the Classic and Russian treatments.

How long can I wear lash extensions for?

Lash Perfect Classic and Russian Volume eyelashes can be worn continually. We recommend a fresh set is applied occasionally just to keep them looking fresh.

Can I get my eyelash extensions wet?

Not during the first 24 hours. During this time exposing your lashes to any moisture such as tea, humidity and water, will result in the lash glue over-curring and becoming brittle, meaning your lashes will fall off within a matter of days. It is vital that you follow this rule, as it will allow you to get the maximum potential from your eyelash extensions. After the initial 24 hours, your new lashes will be waterproof.

Can I apply mascara to my eyelash extensions?

It won't be necessary, as your Lash Perfect eyelash extensions will enhance your eyes more than mascara ever could. There is also a risk that mascara use could shorten the life of your lashes. If you must use mascara, for example on your bottom lashes, then make sure that is is water based/oil free.
